Position: Information Officer - Resources/Acquisition
Location: United Kingdom, with occasional travel to client offices in London

Hours of work: Core operational hours are expected to be between 9.00am to 5.30pm
Reports To: Information Manager
We are seeking an experienced Information Officer to provide high-quality research and information support to Kennedys Law LLP. The role focuses on management and evaluation of information resources and research tools including involvement in acquisitions, supplier liaison, and resource optimisation to ensure the team has access to the most appropriate research materials. Working closely with the Information Manager and wider team, the role supports enquiry delivery, business and legal research, and business development activity, and ensures effective access to key research resources and tools.
Position Objective
- To provide professional support to Kennedys Law LLP, ensuring they receive a consistently excellent information and research service
- Supporting the management and evaluation of information resources and research tools, including involvement in acquisitions, supplier liaison, and resource optimisation to ensure the team has access to the most appropriate research materials
- Compiling reports on companies and sectors using secondary resources. Be able to carry out competitor and targeting research
- Answering a range of legal and information requests, from quick requests for cases, legislation and company information to more in-depth legal research
- Providing advice on self-service solutions for simpler enquiries, calling on the resources available via the intranet
- Delivery of Business Research , Business Intelligence related inductions for new joiners (as well as cover for other inductions where needed for wider team)
- Overseeing the successful delivery of enquiries and research, including assigning and validating work from Information Analysts

- To lead on delivery of timely and insightful business research, supporting client development and business development activity
- Supporting the Information Manager to deliver excellent service to Kennedys Law LLP

- Sharing knowledge and contributing to cross-skilling across wider team
Position Expectations
- Research using traditional printed materials, commercial electronic sources as well as the internet
- Contribute to the efficient and effective management of workflow of requests
- Ownership and updating of business research related processes / instructions used across the team
- Supporting maintenance / content for intranet where needed
- Liaison with off-shore analysts and delivery lead.
- Providing project support to Information Manager
- Supporting evaluation and management of research resources, including reviewing usage, identifying potential new tools or subscriptions, and contributing to procurement or acquisition discussions where relevant

Previous Experience
- 4 years’ experience in Information / Research Service, preferably in an enquiries or research-based commercial environment, will have acquired the necessary skills to be successful in this role
- Experience of undertaking research and/or answering enquiries in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with or supporting the management of research databases, information subscriptions, or commercial information resources would be beneficial
Professional/Educational Qualification
- A degree or post-graduate qualification in Business / Economics, Marketing, Information and Library Management (or equivalent professional experience)
- Working knowledge of legal / professional services sector
- Good IT skills
- Excellent understanding of information resources, databases and associated technology
